Context
On an urban plot in Azeitão, Portugal, surrounded by neighbouring buildings, the project sought to balance privacy, solar orientation and a variety of outdoor spaces. The house is organised so that the main façade remains more discreet towards the street, while the living area opens onto the interior of the plot — facing south, with the garden and pool as the focal point of views and daily use.

Siting, Privacy and Light
The layout of the house reinforces a clear transition between public and private space. The street-facing façade limits direct exposure, and the openings are oriented towards the interior of the plot, making use of east, south and west-facing light. This strategy allows the living area to be lit throughout the day while controlling the relationship with neighbouring buildings.
Open-Plan Living Area
On the ground floor, kitchen, living room and dining area flow continuously, with simple circulation routes and direct access to the exterior. The open-plan space was designed to maintain functionality and storage while allowing for different uses of the same area, without sacrificing acoustic or visual comfort.

Master Suite and Continuous Flow
The master suite integrates bedroom, walk-in wardrobe and a spacious bathroom, with views towards the Serra da Arrábida. The suite was conceived as a continuous sequence, with smooth transitions between sleeping, dressing and bathing areas, maintaining privacy and a clear spatial reading.

Garage and Service Areas
The garage was sized to accommodate parking and practical storage needs. It includes a dedicated workshop or work area, useful for maintenance, equipment and everyday organisation.
